Thank you for the interest in writing the TOMS story with your students. As you may know, TOMS offers shoes, eyeglasses and clothing, and suits each purchase by giving to someone in need. We hope you and your students will be inspired by lessons coming from learned simply by including supplying as the core of the business. Since our from 2006, teachers and educators have asked for resources to aid teach how giving can be a viable business platform or perhaps potential vocation. We couldn't be more thankful for their work. Educators had been, and keep on being, an integral part of this new movement of making a difference through everyday choices.

We've put together some of the teaching methods here for one to integrate the TOMS history into your category or group activities and encourage students to take into account business and giving in a different way. The TOMS History

In 2006, American traveler Blake Mycoskie befriended children within a village in Argentina and found they had simply no shoes to protect their feet. Wanting to support, he produced TOMS, an organization that would meet every fashion footwear purchased with a pair of fresh shoes directed at a child in need. One for One. ™

Five years later, TOMS realized this kind of movement can serve other basic requires and launched TOMS Eyewear. With every couple purchased, TOMS will help offer sight to a person in need. One for One. ™ As even more everyday alternatives have the power to impact the lives of people around the world, the TOMS activity will continue to grow and evolve.

Supplying

Shoes:

During its 1st year in corporate, TOMS sold 10, 1000 pairs of boots. Blake came back to Spain that same year with family and friends and gave returning to the children who had first influenced him. TOMS has offered millions of pairs of new shoes or boots to kids in need through Supplying Partners around the globe. TOMS today gives in over 45 countries and works with humanitarian education organizations in the field who integrate shoes to their health, education, hygiene and community expansion programs.

Eyesight:

In September 2011, TOMS began providing prescription spectacles, medical treatment and sight-saving surgical procedure. Each TOMS Eyewear order not only assists save or restore someone�s sight; additionally, it supports sustainable community-based eye care applications that train local well being voulnteers and teachers, help create specialist jobs and support attention care specialists in reaching out to serve remote communities which in turn not have access to vision care. TOMS helps conserve and regain sight in 11 countries*.
